Created with Corel VideoStudio. www.bensound.com . I recommend this product, but make sure it isn't damaged upon arrival (also check for hidden belt issues)! Briggs & Stratton only provide their generous warranty on the engine - nothing more!

I have a double wide driveway (so, picture two garage doors), and this throws the snow just wide enough for all of the snow to get on the grass. This is true, even when I am walking down the middle of the driveway, and it is also true for wet and heavy snow.

I find that this doesn’t throw ice as far. It is good for cutting into an ice layer, but it isn’t ideal for trying to chop down a 1’ high ice wall.

Anyway, I am suggesting that this chews through some 8”+ of wet heavy snow, even the stuff that the snow plows out at the base of your driveway. Even with that heavier stuff, I am suggesting that you can throw the snow a good 12’ minimum.

So, if you park out in the street, you can get all of that snow out of the road, over a 4’ wide sidewalk, and into the grass.

This is the ideal level of power and practicality for a homeowner living in a state with the biggest snowstorm of the season being maybe 24”+ (total).

In my opinion, if you get more than that, or if you get tall snow squalls LESS THAN 1.5’, then you truly may need to advance above what this product offers.

For me, in Pennsylvania, this is a beast.

For you, in Vermont (for example), maybe you’ll want a 2-stage unit instead.

Also, be aware of 2 things:

I had to return this twice, because of issues. The third one had no defects. If you see dents, or find that the belt is squealing (or comes off upon receipt), don’t mess around.

Briggs and Stratton could use to package these snowblowers better, and protect them during transit. Each new snowblower I received came with additional protective packaging (maybe they are aware of these issues!).

Briggs only warranties the motor, and not the snowblower itself. So, something simple, like a belt issue, is not covered! Also, beware that it is really challenging to put the belt back onto the sieves, if it comes off!

Lastly, some assembly required, and the directions are reasonably clear.
