Hello everyone and welcome to The Legend Of Rivellon. This is a deep dive into Larian studios and how they became one of, if not the best makers of rpgs in the world today and an entire lengthy retrospective of every Divinity game.

This video is the culmination of almost six months of solid work playing Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, Divinity The Dragon Knight Saga, Divinity Original Sin 1 and Divinity Original Sin 2. During and after which I wrote a nearly 100 page essay on the subject and have transformed that into this video here today and please just let me take a moment to say, I am absolutely exhausted.

It’s been a hell of a ride exploring classic CRPGs and ARPGs, modern 3rd person action role playing games, a brief foray into an RTS CIV game that has a dragon with jetpack mode and two of the best turn based light tactics RPGs that I have ever played. We’re going to meet characters like Lucian The Divine and see his spectacular rise and terrible fall, we’ll bandy words with characters like the Eternal Undead Fane or the Red Prince of the lizard people to say nothing of the wise and powerful Wizard Zandalor and the talking cat Arhu.

When I started this project I had thought to focus on the stories and themes in the games and give them major focus but as I learnt more and more about Larian’s story and how they faced so many trials and disappointments on their road, I had to make it the main focus. It really is inspiring and Swen Vincke and all his team are total gigachads who all have my respect for the work they did. Thank you so much for all these wonderful games guys, it was an absolute blast to play them all. Well I doubt any of you have read this far anyway so let's get on with the technical stuff.
