Many of us modelers have model railroads in our basements, however, few of us have layouts where all of the buildings are home made - out of stained glass. The windows on the buildings, the roofs, the walls: all stained glass. While many are reproductions of actual buildings, such as the York Pennsylvania Western Maryland Railway depot, the East Strasburg depot, or the Star Barn, many others are fictional structures that come purely from the mind of the layout's owner, and creator. However, the enterprising spirit doesn't stop at the buildings on this layout. Many of the smaller details, such as that O Scale Checkers board on the porch of the home built Cracker Barrel - made of wood by the layout's builder with a laser cutter. The truss work on the large bridge was also designed and built by the layout's creator. You'd be hard pressed to find another layout as unique as this one.

The layout isn't done - as model railroads never are, we plan to return to film this gorgeous piece of artwork as progress on the layout continues.

The stained glass art work of the NCRR York 17 and the PRR Keystone logo are also creations of the layout's builder.
