This song had its origins in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Originally, it was written from the perspective of someone who tried to weather the storm and suffered. Over time, we realized the lyrics could easily be about anyone's suffering, even addiction. Yet redemption is always a prayer away - waiting for us in the "Light of Day". After recent Hurricanes Helene and MIlton, the lyrics were as current as ever. The style is a bit Cajun, a bit Appalachian Blue Grass, a little Asian influence.
