Spruce Coal and Timber Company Maintenance of Way critter -

This cab is my rendition of a kit that I got last year, but just now got around to putting it together. The base was a Bachmann On30 Davenport and the cab is a laser kit from a guy I found on eBay. I am waiting for a galloping Goose Tsunami decoder to come in to finish up the little details and such. The speaker enclusure is ready to go when I get the Tsunami sound decoder. I had plugged in an EMD Diesel sound decoder I had laying around from an HO install that hasn't happened yet to see how the speaker did, and I actually thought about leaving it in after I played with the acoustics settings in the JMRI program, but I think a goose would sound better.

The car behind it is a scratch built so called maintenance of way workboose made from wood siding, Sticks of 1/4 x 1/4 and I used grandtline windows and doors. The trucks are from an HO scale leftover. I did add wiper pickups to the loco wheels as well as all wheel pick up from the workboose. I have gotten in the habbit of doing this with steam tenders on all my short locos such as Porters and Davenports. I can assure you that with the tenders or secondary cars and additional pick up, they all go over even HO #8 turnouts and all at grade crossings with no problem. That was something I hated with the 0-4-0's (stall).
