Richard Franklyn Searight was an American author and correspondent of HP Lovecraft's.
Searight wrote a few stories set in the Cthulhu Mythos, and many of his works were published in pulp magazine Weird Tales. He was the creator of the ancient mystic writings known as the Eltdown Shards, which were later used by Lovecraft in "The Challenge from Beyond", although the two authors created divergent histories for the texts.
Richard was the father of the late Franklyn Searight, who wrote a significantly larger proportion of Mythos pieces than his father, and appears to have attempted to complete some of the elder Searight's unfinished works.
