The video is about an adventurous trek in Dzongu North Sikkim. The trek is heading towards the one of the remotest part of Upper Dzongu. Tholung Monastery trekking can be called the best among all the treks in Sikkim.
Tholung Monastery was built in early 18th Century. It contains rare and valuable scriptures and artifacts that were brought here for safety.
Tholung Monastery is situated at an altitude of 8,000 ft and falls in restricted area for which permit is required by state government.
To reach Tholung Monastery one has to travel by road up to Bay Village which is also known as 12 mail and from Bay to Tholung 20 km walk and it takes 5 hours approximately. There is no network from Bay and we have to prepare for that.
To complete the Tholung Monastery trek it takes only two nights or one night. But if you're planning to go ahead till Keushong lake then it takes more two nights.
