We visited Baler during the celebration of Aurora Day which was held at the Aurora Provincial Capitol in Baler. Aurora Day holds historical importance as it commemorates the creation of Aurora as a separate province from Quezon on February 19, 1979. The province was named in honor of Doña Aurora Aragon Quezon, the wife of former President Manuel Quezon.

Aurora Day is a vibrant annual celebration, highlighting the cultural and historical significance of the province. With diverse activities ranging from parades to beauty pageants, the event fosters community spirit and showcases the unique attributes of each municipality through their distinct festive stands. The participation of the 8 municipalities, including Baler, Casiguran, Dilasag, Dinalungan, Dingalan, Dipaculao, Maria Aurora, and San Luis, adds a colorful tapestry to the festival, reflecting the rich heritage and natural beauty of Aurora.
