Across the U.S., more school systems are beginning to use a new form of contracting with vendors that directly ties payment to achieving specific performance metrics. Why?

These types of agreements, called outcomes-based contracting, help ensure that the services provided by tutors and education technology vendors actually improve student growth and success. Outcomes-based contracting creates the conditions for more equitable and effective collaboration between districts and vendors.

On May 21, 2024, educational leaders from Santa Ana Unified School District and the Southern Education Foundation joined Digital Promise for a webinar to share how outcomes-based contracting works, what makes them effective for both districts and vendors, and how you can get involved.
