In this studio visit, Jayashree Chakravarty demonstrates her intricate practice of art making using
organic material she collected from her surroundings. Nature continues to be an important subject
in addition to the substance of Jayashree’s oeuvre. Through her practice, she addresses the exigent
situation of shrinking natural habitat and water bodies in ever-expanding Indian cities. Her work
extrapolates this loss, reacting and reflecting upon a natural world disappearing rapidly.
