Having the hands forward of the ball at address helps ensure the hands lead the clubhead through impact for what's known on tour as an "leading edge chip". Tiger woods: I'll be here yeah and be kind of wrapping it that way swing it out to the right with it. Scottie Scheffler: and you use the toe less resistance?
