Today we are having a graveyard picnic with Large Marge. Large Marge was the ghost trucker from Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Large Marge was played by actress Alice Elizabeth Nunn. Alice, AKA Large Marge's grave is located in Jacksonville, Florida at Old City Cemetery. The headstone is located inside the cemetery gates on the left under a large tree with Spanish Moss. It can be dificult to find the memorial of Alice Nunn because it is flush to the ground and the Old City Cemetery is not well maintained. Alice Elizabeth Nunn had a dozen roles in film and TV, but she will always be remembered as Large Marge the ghost trucker by kids who grew up in the 80's. Pee Wee's Big Adventure was the first big film of director Tim Burton. Our picnic was supposed to be a tuna plater and a milkshake (Thats what Pee Wee has at the dinner, that he could not pay for) But we came up short with the milkshake and just had some tuna salad at the grave as we reminised on Nunn's incredible performance as Large Marge. As we picnic I make some comparisons between the Large Marge performance and the performance of Dr Hanible Lector from Silence of the Lambs. Another connection between Pee Wee's Big Adventure and Silece of the Lambs was the dog Darla. Darla played Precious in the movie Silence of the Lambs and Darla was also a dog Pee Wee rescued from the pet shop.
