The 12th ranked Georgetown Hoyas defeated the 8th ranked Pitt Panthers 61-53 in Washington, DC.

The Hoyas trailed by 8 points with 12 minutes left in the game, but ran off a 25-9 stretch to close out the win. The low score reflects the slow pace that both teams enjoyed playing rather than a defensive battle.

The Hoyas were led by Jonathan Wallace (17 pts, 8-8 FT), Jeff Green (14 pt) and Roy HIbbert (12 pt), while the Panthers were led by Sam Young (11 pt), Ronald Ramon (11 pt) and Aaron Gray (10 pt); Gray came off the bench as he was working his way back from an ankle injury.
