When you don't have access from below, whether it be from a concrete slab foundation or a second story bathroom, the drain connection for a pre fomed tiled shower pan can be tricky. If you have to use a traditional PVC or ABS cement to connect the sewer pipe it makes it even more difficult becuase the pipe cement needs to be applied before the pan goes in and it can dry up if it is not connected to the sewer pipe in time.
