The month of July has been extremely hot in Washington, DC (zone 7b). In addition to the heat, we've had minimal rain and drought like conditions. Pests were also at their peak this summer and brought many new bugs into the garden like the harlequin cabbage bug that would suck the sap out of my brassica plants like Brussels sprouts, kale, and cauliflower. This video will walk you through what's currently growing in the extreme heat in our zone 7 garden in addition to seeds I've started so that we'll have a fall harvest.
