Today I changed the oil on my 2004 Mercedes S500 after 7000 miles and about 7 months. I cut the filter open to check for any debris, and give my general thoughts on the types of oil and filters available for this car. I used and will continue to use cheap Chinese $5 paper filters and (relatively) cheap full synthetic 5W-30 oil.
