Freeport is the fast growing city in the fastest growing county in Florida - But sometimes, it’s hard to keep up with new development and changes to our community. This video will break down a new marina, development updates on Hammock Bay, and a big new commercial opportunity going in right next to Publix. Let’s get into it.

Shipyard Marina
Just off of the west end of 83A, perched on what was the former Freeport (Gulfstream) Shipbuilding land on Shipyard Road stands the new, massive 80,000 square ft. Shipyard Marina. The building will house up to 480 boats from 22 ft. – 40 ft. in length and up to 9 ft. beam. There is also 2,000 ft. of dockage at the marina on Four Mile Creek. It will be a full-service facility with gas, diesel and engine flushing available. There will be both annual and month-to-month contracts with what looks like an active wait list already. There are also plans for a general store and a waterfront restaurant to be added in the near future.

Hammock Bay Update
Right near the town center of Hammock Bay and the community’s amenities, there is the new Hammock Bay Dental building being built.
New construction by DSLD, Randy Wise, and Holiday Builders have been well received by the market with inventory moving pretty quickly. Steamboat Landing is also seeing some homes sprout up and sell on the active market.

If you’ve driven through Freeport recently or live locally, you may be wondering what this Cleared Commercial parcel on 331 by Publix is. This is master-planned, mixed-use development which includes a 226-unit, Class A apartment community under development.
