In this two part Melbourne Metro Tunnel Video series, I'm explain this flagship project that is part of Victoria's Big Build.

I'll start with a quick overview of the Metro Tunnel route, and new stations and explain why its needed.

I'll then do a deep dive into the Eastern Tunnel Portal that is close to South Yarra Station. You'll see footage from several trains and from Toorak Road as well. You'll even see a track form unit going in right before your eyes!

I then walk above the tunnels to the first new underground stations which is on St Kilda Road. This is Anzac Station and this will be Melbourne's first Tram Train Interchange. And I was so excited to discover that the new tram stop is already in use!

I then reveal the locations the 4 entrances to Anzac Station, and how to get to the Metro Tunnel Platforms down below. And even if you don't catch a train or tram, the new underground passageway will help you get under the busy St Kilda Road.

Its then on to Town Hall Station. This is the biggest and most complex station on the Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project. It has 3 concourses and 7 entrances, including an underground connection to Flinders Street Station.

I'll talk a little about Flinders Street Station and then reveal how this new underground connection to Town Hall station will work. The good news is that tapping off and tapping back on with your Myki card is not required!

I'll then show briefly show you Metro Tunnel HQ which is at 125-133 Swanston Street and then continue following the Metro Tunnels above ground to Melbourne Central Station and tram stop.

Accuracy
I do my best to make the commentary in these videos as accurate as possible by checking facts on the internet and other sources. Do check the comments, as other viewers will often pick up on things I've missed or any mistakes made. Also note that for older videos, things may change over time.

Construction Sites, Maintenance Facilities and other Private Property
All footage of construction sites is taken from a public vantage point. The iPhone's small lens and zoom function makes it easier to film through small gaps in hoardings or fencing, so it may look like I'm on site when I'm not! If you would like to know the exact filming location, then ask me in the comments.
