In 2015, after months of therapy through La Frontera's Empact program in Tempe, Arizona, I was invited by my EMDR counselor to speak on my experience as a Survivor. I wanted to write the speech as a poem because I wanted to remind myself that I was capable of beauty. The event took place in April of 2015 at Civic Space Park in downtown Phoenix.
