Legends Never quit - Sylvester Stallone

After his beginnings as a struggling actor for a number of years upon arriving to New York City in 1969 and later Hollywood in 1974, he won his first critical acclaim as an actor for his co-starring role as Stanley Rosiello in The Lords of Flatbush.

His parent’s filed for divorce in the year 1957, when Sylvester was nine.

He had even more traumatic teen years, with being expelled from nearly 14 schools.

Dropped out of college to pursue acting.

Went on 1000’s of auditions and still couldn’t get work.

Evicted from his apartment, he slept in bus station for nearly three weeks.

So desperate for money, he took roles in porn movies.

He sold his first script, Paradise Alley, for $100 to help correct his bankrupt bank account.Sylvester Stallone wrote the screenplay for Rocky in three and a half days, shortly after watching the championship match between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner.

He tried selling it multiple studios, but finalized after a substantial budget cut, as he refused to sell it unless he paid the lead role.

While filming Rocky IV, Sylvester Stallone asked Dolph Lundgren to try to know him out for real. Lundgren hit him so hard that he was sent to the hospital and was in the ICU for 9 days.

He received an Academy Award nomination for the role, thus having earned two Oscar nods for the character of Rocky.

Stallone won a supporting actor Golden Globe for the part, receiving a standing ovation as he took the podium for his acceptance speech.
