The 2nd video, with the MS 391. I will say quickly that a new chain, and partially damp wood in the center with dry wood on the outside is good at binding the chain up. The 291 had a hard time bucking through the butt of the tree and although it has a good amount of power, the bar being crimped slightly through the whole cut made for slow cutting. Bad for the saw too.
The standard mini wedge cut out I tried quickly in the 1st video altered as it kept shifting.
One interesting fact here is that halfway through this one, I began some precision cutting to avoid the new trees around where I was cutting. I do this whenever possible.
With that tree gone, another 20 baby trees are ready and already growing to replace it.
That 391 powered through that Hemlock almost like it was made of foam.
You need big Dogs for this 391. Stihl needs to put them on all their larger saws. The factory dogs on it are almost useless in so many applications.

Quite the difference between the two models. Both are awesome..
