Fiery Furnaced hike at Arches National Park - 2/13/2022

The Fiery Furnace hike at Arches National Park is a must-do, with some caveats. It's loaded with beautiful Entrada sandstone formations, fins, tefoni (little pockets in the rock), views, and most importantly SLOT CANYONS and amazing CAVES!

This isn't a long hike (~2 miles), but between getting lost and also taking fun detours, you'll hike far more than that, so be prepared. Also, there are many side hikes that take you to other cool sites, so be willing to be adventurous.

Here are some tips:
- You need a permit for this hike and will have to watch a video. You'll want to plan in advance.
- Your phone won't work here, so keep your eyes out for tiny arrows that are super easy to miss.
- Plan on being out there for many hours, so bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
- There are places on this trail where the footing is very tricky.
- Wear good shoes or boots and clothing that can withstand sliding against or down rocks.
- Avoid hiking on crust or dunes, which is destructive.
