šŸ“Œ Ingredients approx. 5 servings

for meatballs - approx. 15-17 pieces

500 g minced meat
1 potato
1 dry onion
3-4 cloves of garlic
1 egg
1 teaspoon paprika
Ā½ teaspoon dried thyme
Ā½ bunch of dill or parsley
salt and pepper
3 tablespoons of oil
100 ml white wine

for the tomato sauce

500 ml tomato juice
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon dried thyme
salt and pepper (ground and grain-optional)
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

šŸ”Ŗ Preparation

Chop the onion very finely, pass the garlic through the press. Grate the potato with small holes then squeeze it between your palms to get rid of excess water. Do the same if you use bread soaked in milk instead of potato.
Put all the ingredients: minced meat, egg, spices, in a bowl and knead vigorously for 5 minutes until the composition binds and becomes like a paste.
Divide the meat mixture into as many meatballs as you want to make (approx. 15-17 pieces), shape them into balls and roll them in flour.
Grease a pan with oil and place the meatballs in the pan. Turn them on both sides so that they also have a film of oil on top to prevent them from drying out in the oven. Put 50 ml of white wine in the tray and put the meatballs in the oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven!
Halfway through the cooking time, i.e. after 15 minutes, open the oven door and turn the meatballs to the other side. Continue baking.
Meanwhile, in a bowl mix all the ingredients from the list for the aromatic tomato sauce.
Remove the pan from the oven and pour the sauce into the pan. Drizzle a spoonful of sauce over the meatballs to keep them tender and juicy.
Reduce the oven temperature to 180 degrees and put the pan in the oven for 15 minutes, until the sauce sets and reduces a little.
Serve the marinated meatballs with your favorite side dish, pickles or a fresh salad.
