මාකෙලි ඇල්ල යනු බස්නාහිර පළාතේ කළුතර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ ඉතා ජනප්‍රිය දිය ඇල්ලකි. මෙම කුඩා සුන්දරත්වය කළු ගඟට අයත් මාකෙලි ඔයේ අතු ගංගාවකින් නිර්මාණය වී ඇත.

මතුගම දෙසින් ගමන් කරන විට ලත්පඳුර හමුවෙයි. ලත්පඳුරේදී ඔබට මල්කාව මාර්ගයේ කෙලින් කන්ද දෙසට ගමන් කළ යුතුය.

කෙලින් කන්ද ප්‍රදේශයේ මාර්ගය ද ඉතා සන්සුන් වන අතර එය සෞම්‍ය දේශගුණයක් දැනිය හැකි සෙවන සහිත වනාන්තර හරහා ගමන් කරයි.

මාකෙලි ඇල්ල දිය ඇල්ල අසල ඉදිකරන ලද වේදිකාවක් ඇත, ඔබට සුන්දර දසුනක් දැකගත හැකිය. නමුත් කරුණාකර මූලික තටාකයේ දිය නෑමෙන් වළකින්න, මන්ද එය අතිශයින්ම භයානක ය. දිය ඇල්ලේ ජලය සමඟ විනෝද වීමට යාමේදී අනපේක්ෂිත සිදුවීම් හේතුවෙන් මෙම ස්ථානයේ මිය ගිය පුද්ගලයින් ගණනාවක් සිටියහ.

මාකෙලි ඔය බලාගාරය මෙම දිය ඇල්ලට ආසන්නව පිහිටා ඇත.

Makeli ella is a very popular waterfall in Western Province, Kaluthara district. This small beauty is created by a branch river Makeli Oya which belongs to Kalu Ganga.

When travelling from Mathugama direction, you will meet Lathpandura. At Lathpandura you have to travel in Malkawa road towards Kelin kanda.

The road at the Kelin kanda area is also very calm and it goes via shady forests where you can feel a mild climate.

There is a stage constructed near the Makeli Ella Waterfall where you can have a nice view. But please avoid bathing at the base pool because of it is extremely dangerous. There were number of people who died at this location due to unexpected incidents when trying to enjoy with water at the aterfall.

Makeli Oya power station is situated closer to this waterfall.
