Funny Head Shave Chemo and Radiation
Thanks Andrew and Brent for a few smiles and laughs on this recovery day.
For those of you that don't know, I was diagnosed with stage IV Carcinoid Cancer in April of 2010 and stage III/IV Adenocarcinoma (stomach cancer) in March of 2018. The stomach cancer is a pretty serious ordeal an I was immediately fast tracked on an aggressive treatment protocol of chemo (5 weeks) and photon radiation (28 consecutive days).
For the last 8 years I've been treated by Dr. Al Benson and Bridget O'Brien APN, CNP in Oncology and recently added to the crew has been Dr. John Hayes (Radiation Oncology) at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. There are countless others at Northwestern I can be thanking (Linda you are at the top of the list), but for fear of leaving someone out, I am blessed, thankful and grateful to have you all looking after me. And.... Thank you BCBS of IL for doing all the heavy lifting with those invoices - special hugs for you!
