Unboxing / Setup / Try-out -- Is this useful to a woodworker?

Taking a look at the new xTool S1 -- 40 Watt diode laser engraver/cutter + Smoke Filter.
The world of laser gizmos is a fast changing one.

Get the Smoke Filter!

I tried out a laser just over 2-1/2 years ago, and it was okay, but the low power and lack of any protective enclosure meant I really was not that interested in it.

This unit is powerful enough to cut through (thin) plywood, is fast, is a diode laser so less complex and delicate than a C02 laser, has a protective enclosure, built in fan, and I got it with a smoke filter so I can even use it inside in my basement shop.
