We’ve disassembled our first Subaru boxer engine! This is the EJ202 engine, taken from the 2000 Subaru Forester with a mileage of 285,000 km.
This engine differs from the original version with an “open” aluminum block, cast-iron sleeves and single-shaft 8-valve heads (4 valves per cylinder).
As always, we talked about the main weaknesses and problems of this engine, and also showed the disassembling and pinning of the boxer engine block.
