A netsuke (根付) is an accessory used to fasten a case for small items to a kimono obi (sash). The size is around 4cm and there is a hole for the string to pass through. It became popular among common people from the end of the 17th century. This video introduces various type of netsuke as well as a museum specializing netsuke called Kyoto Seishu Netsuke Art Museum.
