Probably the least know in this threesome is the Icelandic born, Finnish raised, Japan orientated composer Nordgren. His music generaly has the clear lines most Finnish music has, not without a tune, but always intelligent, sensitive and open. One would not be surprised if the audience would make an association with the young Ligeti. Arvo Pärt is back and with a vengeance! His Tabula Rasa will be performed. According to Michael Stipe, the best music ever written. But then probably Stipe has not been performed either too much in this festival. Strange it may seem, but Victor Kissine has not been performed a lot either... One of those talented composers who flooded Europe when the lights went out in Russia, he established himself arround Brusels. Only to write for Gidon Kremer and his Kremerata Baltica a music filled with nostalgia...
