Kevin and Diane Sloan were kind enough to put together TWO presentations on ReWILDING for our Dallas chapter monthly meetings. They quickly recapped What is ReWILDING, proceeded to give us the environmental, economical, and health reasons for ReWILDING, and a brief discussion and visuals on how to ReWILD our urban areas.

Kevin W. Sloan is a landscape architect, urban planner, writer and professor. The work of his professional practice, Kevin Sloan Studio in Dallas, Texas, has been nationally and internationally recognized. Recently, he is the author of the Branch Waters Network, an organizing principle for the sprawling Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, using the entire water shed network of rivers, creeks, and sheet springs to improve water quality, mitigate flood events, and provide quality green space and parks for every neighborhood and economic strata. He teaches architecture at the University of Texas at Arlington, and loves teaching as much as he loves making beautiful places.

Diane Sloan is the CEO of Kevin Sloan Studio. Her executive and studio leadership is informed by over 30 years of experience working for pre-eminent development companies in Texas and in the Public Relations department at Syracuse University where she worked prior to relocating to Texas in 1995. She has a largely useless degree in Fine Arts from THE Ohio State University, and learned everything she knows about plants from the the Native Plant Society of Texas. She is never happier than when she finally has the garden weeded, and is ecstatic that a couple green anoles moved into it this spring.
