Like Shadow of the Beast, Leander is a Psygnosis game for the Amiga ported to the Mega Drive by Electronic Arts. The Amiga version is the definitive, even with its one obvious limitation: the game can be played either with music or sound effects, but not both (this is briefly shown in levels 1-1 and 1-3, but for the rest of the video the Amiga is shown with both music and sound effects).

One glaring omission in the MD version is level 3-7.

This was the first game by Traveller's Tales - their 16-bit games had a distinct, and very pretty, visual flair (see Puggsy, Mickey Mania, Toy Story - even Bram Stoker's Dracula has nice visuals) and hard, hard gameplay. Seeing this running on a real Amiga in 1991 must have been something.

Note: Even though the European Mega Drive logo is used in the background of these videos, the version shown is always the 60 Hz/60 fps (unless stated otherwise in the video title or description). The reason is that I just love the European MD logo, it's the one I grew up with.
