When we think of the Stone Age, we might often think of cave art, stone tools and the animals people hunted. In Britain there isn’t a great deal of Palaeolithic cave art, but at Creswell Crags you can see the most northerly examples. Experimental archaeologist Dr. James Dilley explores the caves with the limestone gorge of Creswell Crags. He talks to the site curator Dr. Angharad Jones about some of the artefacts found within the caves. He is also given a cave tour by Sarah Lee, who is the Learning Officer of the site.

Creswell Crags is an independently run site that stewards some of Britain’s rarest archaeology. They offer exciting cave tours and an excellent museum to explore, as well as a great cafe and gift shop. They rely on footfall to stay open which has been badly hit during the COVID pandemic. We have been helping raise funds and awareness of their cause so ask that you consider visiting soon or donating to their support page here: https://www.paypal.com/gb/fundraiser/...

A big thank you to the Creswell Crags team for their support in creating this video.
