Run through this simple checklist before you run a job on your CNC to hopefully avoid an issue from occurring. From broken bits to oak wanting to fly off my table like a frisbee, I have experienced a handful of things that could have been prevented with the help of a simple checklist. Will this solve all your problems? Nope on a rope. BUT, it may get you a few steps closer to operating your CNC safely. Feel free to copy and paste the list below to a document on your phone or print it out! Heck, maybe I'll even get a CNC file ready to share.

Pre-CNC Checklist:
1. Check bolts on router mount and dust boot to ensure they are snug.
2. Make sure nothing is getting in the way when homing your machine.
3. Make sure clamps/hold-downs are out of the way of the router bit and mount.
4. Check your knife tightness if using a bit with a removable knife.
5. Clean your router collet / chuck by giving it a tap with your wrench.
6. Check to ensure your router speed is set properly.
7. Make sure your CNC is set to the same units of measurement that you designed with.
8. Check dust collection level to make sure it isn't too full.
9. Ensure your workpiece is fastened securely to the table.
10. Keep your area clear, especially the side where your cables are moving.
11. Have your PPE ready to go.
