#Igatpuri - Episode 1. Monsoon Getaway near Mumbai & Pune. Hills/#Pagoda/Trekking

You want to enjoy #Trekking and sight seeing for a #weekend #getaway - choose #Igatpuri. One of the most preferred #destinations for both #Mumbaikars and #Punekers. It is well connected through #road, #rail and #airways. We chose a #bike #trip. It is around 120 Kms from #Mumbai and 240 Kms from #Pune. It lies between Mumbai and #Nasik. The best season to visit Igatpuri is indeed #Monsoon. We had a #homestay at #Fog City and enjoyed the #scenic #view of #mountains. The room is #cozy with all the #amenities. We couldn't resist but to #jump into our #swimming #pool and have some #fun. One can breathe in all the #freshness of #nature here and have a soothing #experience. After a quick freshen up, we moved for our #visit to #Pagoda - #Vipassana Centre AKA Dhamma Giri Vipassana International #Academy. It is one of the oldest #meditation center in #India. There are various courses, teaching different #meditation #techniques and is free for all. Once in a #lifetime, we all should be here to #experience #serenity. #Trekking #lovers can also do a #Kalsubai #Trek. It is called 'the #Everest of #Maharashtra.' The #trek is moderately difficult. Don't miss the #lush paddy #fields, #jungles and small #streams. It takes around 3-4 hours, with short intervals.
