Todd Phillips’ Joker brilliantly directs a lens over the life of Arthur Fleck, a solitary soul drudging his way through life in a Gotham City unlike any we’ve ever seen. A vision of not just Phillips but of production designer Mark Friedberg.

Through Arthur’s lens we see a unique Gotham, but is it reality or is it a Gotham of Arthur’s creation, a means of escape, of dealing with his inner turmoil? Only in such disorderly surroundings can dark be confused with light, bad with good, hero with antihero….only in this Gotham, the Gotham City of Joker.
