The CC201 series diesel electric locomotive is one of several locomotives that have a long history in Indonesia. Hence, its existence has many stories to tell. Since its first arrival in 1977, it has immediately become an important point in the development of Indonesian railways, continuing in the footsteps of the CC200 series locomotive; as the backbone of train operations by the Railway Bureau Company or PJKA. The distinctive colors of the diesel loco in the form of beige and green are quite striking compared to the steam loco which is generally black.
Along with the times, railroad operator companies in Indonesia also continue to develop, including their colors. This has an impact on the color the locomotive is wearing. The CC201 locomotive also follows this development. He wore a green beige color in the PJKA era, like this for example, then red and blue in the Perumka era, and the dominant white color in the era of PT KA and PT KAI. In early 2021, PT KAI reportedly made a breakthrough in the heritage field by painting several of its locomotives. with this classic color. One target was several CC201 locomotives that had the opportunity to be painted in the style of paint in the PJKA era. The first locomotive that gets this opportunity is loco CC2018331 or if the old number is CC20169. The painting was carried out at Balai Yasa Yogyakarta, along with the treatment process. Until finally, this February 23rd, this unique locomotive came out for testing on the main line. This moment is certainly not wasted by train lovers. Since morning they have been waiting in the eastern area of Balai Yasa. After 06.30, the locomotive was shuttled out to Lempuyangan. Arriving at Lempuyangan, the locomotive was waiting for the arrival of KA Kahuripan Kiaracondong route to Blitar. Meanwhile, the KRL KfW fleet from Yogyakarta to Solobalapan departed from Lempuyangan station. After the Kahuripan train arrived, this beige-green locomotive was shunted and attached to the front of the Kahuripan train. Promptly at 7:31 a.m., Kahuripan Train with this classic locomotive departed from Lempuyangan. Uniquely, shortly after leaving, he ran into a KRL JR205 commuter line from Solobalapan bound for Yogyakarta. The plan is that this locomotive will only tow Kahuripan train to Purwosari station in Solo, as part of a locomotive maintenance load test by Balai Yasa Yogyakarta. Not long after that, the locomotive which departed from Purwosari arrived at Lempuyangan station. The locomotive stopped for a moment, before being sent back to Balai Yasa Yogyakarta. The locomotive drove slowly, following the pengok village, until it arrived at the east entrance of Balai Yasa Yogyakarta. This green beige locomotive briefly re-entered, before going out on duty. Meanwhile, at Balai Yasa, one unit of the CC206 workshop was seen ready to go out to undergo a dynamic test on the test track. With the closing of the gates of Balai Yasa Yogyakarta, this special edition video also ends. Thank you so much for everyone who watched from beginning to end.
