Kevin Swiger of VPG Micro-Measurements and Vijay Kumar of Dynatec India team up to produce a strain gage (gauge) installation video while in Bangalore. This video illustrates the procedure to install a strain gage on metal, and the materials used are suitable for strain measurement at temperatures in the range of -25 deg F to +150 deg F (-32 deg C to +65 deg C); even lower and higher for short periods of time. Surface preparation, strain gage bonding, soldering lead wires to the gage, and protective coating of the finished installation are included in the video.
