Northern Alaska's vast wilderness isn't just a stunning landscape, the Arctic Coastal Plain alone is estimated to be the breeding grounds for almost 8 million waterbirds and is vital to other migratory species and Indigenous communities. Among them is the Dunlin, a type of Sandpiper that calls these expansive wetlands home. Recent actions by the Department of Interior have further highlighted the importance of this region by protecting 13 million acres of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska. By safeguarding America's Arctic, we are not only preserving the homes of incredible
wildlife but also ensuring the future of the region for generations to come.
