We gwan like seh English drop from sky fully formed with all its standardization fully intact. Nuttin nuh go so. And the reality is, this is not a strange process for any language to go through. Many a mordern language was once a pidgin. Many ah modern language is related to other languages to the extent that they can be considered dialects of a parent.

Once again. "A language is a dialect with an Army & a Navy!" Standardisation is often fuelled by political realities & intentions. So maybe, the only thing holding is back from a proper appreciation of Afri-Jamaican 🇯🇲 as a language (grounded in Kromanti), is the fact that we collectively don't appreciate our political reality and/or lack a self determined political intention.
