How to put cutout concrete slab back.

We were running PVC pipes for pool gas heater and had to cut out piece of the slab to have a trench. No one recommended to do this way, but I decided to experiment and instead of pouring new concrete slab - use the same one just setting it into fresh "concrete bed". Everything worked out perfectly, another do it yourself "half way construction" project was completed successfully.
We used: Stihl concrete saw, all purpose gravel, plastic sheet from polyurethane, cement patching fine mix and regular concrete mix.
