From fitness stars to politicians, no one is safe from Tom Gleeson and his Hard Chat, especially TODAY hosts.

Joining the show to discuss his hit segment from The Weekly, Gleeson took every opportunity he could to give the team a bit of a roasting and even invited Karl back for round two.

“I could do that for you right now Karl,” he offered.

“I reckon we should have a second session actually now that you’re back in the papers, I just feel I would have a lot to chat about.”

With no word from Karl (only beeping) as to whether or not he’d take up the offer, Gleeson admitted it was just too easy to throw that in.

“You opened the goal and I just kicked it right through,” he joked, with Karl adding the score was likely “10-nil” now following that remark.

Gleeson even asked Sylvia, Lisa and Richard to join him but, according to the comedian, Tim just isn’t “high profile enough” for his show.

“Maybe he can fill in for one of you if you don’t turn up,” he offered.

Despite asking famous faces some pretty hard-hitting and uncomfortable questions, Gleeson admitted he never gets embarrassed doing what he does.

“I usually feel pretty relaxed about it,” he said.

“Most of TV is like this, it’s quite congenial and pleasant, we’re all nice to each other and then people say nasty things behind people’s backs whereas what I like to do is do it to people’s faces.

“As you know Karl, when I interviewed you I don’t stab you in the back I stab you in the front while making eye contact.”
