I was quite excited to finally get out on the water to play with my new toy. I had set up to record the screen so I could demonstrate some of the features I have been most interested in.

I bought a USB stick specially for the recording. I got one of those tiny ones where the memory chip is in a tiny bead on the end. My logic was that the USB stick wouldn’t be in the way. Unfortunately, the USB overheated and burned out. It’s possible those little USB sticks are not intended to be used to record hours of video at a time. High sustained transfer rates will generate extra heat. Anyway, it was quite devastating to get home after hours and hours of recording only to find I couldn’t read any of it when I when to edit the video.

I’m sorry I don’t have the video so that you can see everything that impressed me, but I will rectify it over time. I am not going to spend a whole day experimenting and re-recording it, but I will upload small bits either separately or as part of other videos as time goes by.
