This was a service call for a random gas smell that would only happen once or twice a month. I eventually decided to soap bubble every bit of gas pipe on the roof as well as the whole gas meter in the unit. I eventually found the gasket inside the package unit gas valve had failed and was leaking small amounts of gas. I shut off the gas to the unit and wrote the gas valve up for replacement.
