The Department of School Education on 5 September celebrated State level Teacher's Day at NBCC Convention Hall, Kohima with Advisor to School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome as the special guest. Yhome, while addressing the celebration, announced that from now on Saturdays will be strictly observed as a holiday in both private and government schools while also encouraging schools in rural areas to start classes early. While during the programme, Commissioner & Secretary Kevileno Angami also highlighted on the growth and development of the State and the milestone achieved through education and knowledge imparted by teachers in the students. Earlier, the Chief Guest also launched the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) — A centralized management system for monitoring the real-time status of various projects/activities of School Education and its sister Organizations. It is to be noted that the main goal of VSK is to provide valuable insights and recommendations for improving the educational system and ensuring better learning outcomes for students. Meanwhile, the teachers were also awarded for their distinguish services for the improvement of the students community
