Things go from bad to worse as Mother Rachel's true nature, and thus the nature of Hemlock Vale itself, are revealed. A crisis of faith, a desperate plan to stabilize a decaying reality, sickness and terror and fire and death all await the surveyors as night falls on their second day on Hemlock Isle.
