Why do you enjoy geology and why is it important to you?

Hey geo-dudes and dudettes! I'm working on a script for a geology series on YouTube and I'm hoping to get a few responses back from you as geology-interested people.

The question I'd like to ask is simply: What got you interested in geology? What makes you think, "Man, I love what I do" or what made you interested in the first place and what makes it so important to you now?

For example, minerals are what got me interested. I love their brilliant colors, how amazing some of the habits are, and the way they appear in thin section. Studying them made the world seem so beautiful to me.
