Listen to U.S. Pain Foundation's National Director of Policy and Advocacy, Cindy Steinberg, discuss a federal bill the organization has championed called the "Advancing Research for Chronic Pain Act." The Advancing Research for Chronic Pain Act, S.2922/H.R.7164 is one of only a handful of bills that have ever been introduced in Congress focusing on people with pain. This bill would require the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to analyze and publish key population health data on chronic pain, which is not currently done. Regular, high-quality data is needed to better understand the problem of pain, and to pave the way for improved treatment options.
