How to remove a 2015-2019 Hyundai Sonata front bumper:    • 2015-2019 Hyundai Sonata front bumper...

This is a super easy, quick tutorial that will show you step-by-step how to remove your 2015-2017 Hyundai Sonata fender. In the video, we already have our front bumper removed, which you can view in the video link above.

If you only have to replace your fender, then you won’t need to remove the entire front bumper. You’ll just want to pull it slightly to give you some room to work with the fender. In our video, we had to replace both the fender and front bumper so we removed the entire Hyundai Sonata front bumper in another video and we’ll go through how to remove just your fender in this video.

For this Hyundai Sonata fender removal, you’ll need a 10mm socket wrench and a plastic panel remover tool. The plastic panel remover is not completely necessary as you can get the job done with a flathead screwdriver also, but you’ll risk scratching up your paint with the metal.

First, you’ll remove the cover that is between the fender and the side view mirror. Next, remove the chrome garnish above the fender simply using your hands. Then, using a 10mm socket and wrench, you’ll want to remove the screws where you removed the cover. After that, you’ll have to loosen the screws at the top of the fender, but we recommend not unscrewing them completely to prevent your fender from falling to the ground once you remove the rest of the screws around and underneath the fender. Continue removing the rest of the screws around the fender.

In the video, you’ll notice there is no fender liner between the fender and the wheels. If you want to get the fender liner, we do have one available here: https://bit.ly/15-17-sonata-fender-liner. You’ll want to remove the fender liner before proceeding to remove the foam piece seen in the video. The fender liners are usually just held by a screw and pushpins, which you can use the tools from this video to remove.

Next, you will need to partially remove the side skirt in order to remove the Sonata fender completely. First, start underneath the car and remove the 3 screws that are keeping the side skirt in place. Then, open the door to get to the rest of the panel. You’ll have to use a plastic panel removal tool in order to remove the side skirt from the car without scratching up your paint. The last two screws are located underneath the side skirt, and you’ll use the same 10mm socket and wrench to remove these final screws. Finally, go back to the top of the fender where you had the slightly loosened screws removed and completely remove them. (Don’t forget to hang onto your fender while removing them so your fender doesn’t fall to the ground!) And voila! We’re all done with this super easy Hyundai Sonata fender removal.
