Michael Charles Chilufya Sata was born in Mpika in the Northern Province of what wasthen Northern Rhodesia on the 6th of July 1937. When the country was still under colonialrule, he worked as a police officer and railway man at some point. He was alsoinvolved in trade unionism. He became fully active in politics in 1963 afterthe independence of Northern Rhodesia which was then changed to Zambia.Watch how he became President.
