There are many great walks on Magnetic Island (just off the coast at Townsville, Qld). We had limited time on the island and the Forts Walk is highly recommended as the one to do. We decided to continue on and around to Horseshoe Bay.

The walk starts at the Forts Junction (where the bus can drop you off) just over a kilometre walk to the remains of the Second World War Forts. These are rather interesting. We then climbed down to sea level and along to Radical Bay, with its beautiful beach.

Finally a hard climb back up and over to get into Horseshoe Bay where the bus can pick you up.
